Winter is coming to a close and spring is right around the corner which means it is time to start growing seedlings and prepare for the upcoming growing season! This time of the year can be the most exciting for some because you are looking to break out of that cabin fever and do some gardening. Understanding the fundamentals of seed starting will allow you to have your most successful gardening season yet. Having a Seed Starting area, seed starting trays and cells as well as lighting are all critical for being successful. The video breaks down all of these aspects into the detail that you need in order to start your growing season off strong.
Did you know that you can’t start ALL of your seeds indoors? Thats right, some seeds really prefer to be direct sown rather than transplanted. Below is a simple table that shows which plants should be direct sown rather than started indoors. It is safe to say that MOST seeds can be started indoors but if you have questions leave a comment in the video!
*Always read your specific seed packets to have the best understanding of what each seed needs in order to germinate and grow successfully.
